Vol. 359 No. 9

Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

44.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a person (details supplied) in County Cork was refused a mortgage subsidy.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of a mortgage subsidy application from the person named.

45.

Mr. Cowen

asked the Minister for the Environment when an inspector will visit a person (details supplied) in County Offaly in connection with her application for a house improvement grant.

An inspection will be carried out in this case as soon as possible.

46.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will pay a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

A grant cannot be allowed in this case because the person named has not yet occupied the house.

47.

asked the Minister for the Environment when he will sanction a house improvement grant for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

The approval of grants has been deferred pending the submission of evidence of planning permission which was requested from the applicant by my Department on 24 September 1984. A further request for this evidence has now been issued.

48.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford.

A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house is completed and occupied and that all the conditions applying to the grant scheme have been complied with. The inspection will be carried out shortly.

As the final instalment of the applicant's loan was paid by the local authority on 30 November 1984 when the house was completed, a £1,000 new house grant only will be paid in this case, if in order. Certain minor matters that had to be attended to in this case arising from a request by the Department's inspector in February last do not affect the position in relation to the amount of the grant.

49.

asked the Minister for the Environment when written approval will be issued to persons (details supplied) in County Wexford for a house improvement grant; and the amount which will be paid.

House improvement grants totalling £1,000 have been approved in this case, and a certificate of approval has issued to the applicant.

50.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will consider making a special grant available for the building of a new road from Brandon to Cuss in the Dingle area, County Kerry, to accommodate tourists.

No proposals have been received in my Department for a new road at this location.

51.

(Limerick West) asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

A new house grant will be paid in this case when an inspection establishes that the house is complete and occupied and complies with all other conditions governing the grant scheme. This applicant's file has been referred to my Department's inspector for investigation and report.
