Vol. 361 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

142.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will reinvestigate the case of a person (details supplied) in County Cork who was refused a grant for a cubicle house and assembly yard because he had started the work when the inspector called; and the present position on the matter.

Following receipt of a recent application for grant aid for a cubicle house, cattle crush and assembly yard, an inspection was carried out which revealed that work on the structures had commenced without the prior written approval of the farm development service. Such approval is a prerequisite of grant aid and accordingly the work did not qualify for such aid.

143.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will arrange to pay grants under the farm modernisation scheme to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

There are two grants involved in this case. As the applicant is a development farmer he is required to submit an extract of farm accounts to ACOT for each year of his farm development plan. The processing for payment of a grant in respect of a cattle house and concrete yard is held up pending receipt of a communication from ACOT regarding the farm accounts for 1982 and 1983.

An application received in August 1985 for grant aid for a lean-to will be processed when the necessary permission of a neighbour has been obtained by the applicant.
