Vol. 362 No. 11

Written Answers. - Hormone-Antibiotic Legislation.

73.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the new procedures and regulations for the implementation of the new hormone-antibiotoc legislation; if these procedures and regulations will necessitate the hiring of extra staff in his Department to supervise and implement them; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The regulations controlling the use of hormones and antibiotics will be administered by the existing staff of my Department. In addition, it is intended that some local authority veterinary officers will be approved as authorised persons. The recruitment of extra staff will not be necessary.
