(ii) The only age breakdown available with the monthly live register relates to persons under 25 years of age. A special age analysis of the live register is carried out on a quarterly basis in respect of second last Friday of January, April, July, and October. This analysis classifies the number of persons on the live register into age groups and sex. The age groups shown are, under 20 years, 20-24 years, 25-34 years, 35-44 years, 45-54 years, 55-59 years, 60-64 years. The following table shows the number of persons under 20 years on the live register at October 1981 to October 1984 and 19 July 1985, the latest date for which figures are available.

A special industrial analysis of the live register is carried out in respect of the second Friday of each month. On 8 November 1985, the latest date for which figures are available, there were 45, 101 persons on the live register whose previous employment had been in the sector building, contracting and works of construction.
