Vol. 363 No. 11

Written Answers. - Redundancy Payments.

120.

asked the Minister for Labour the reason for the delay in giving a decision on the redundancy payment application of a person (details supplied) in County Dublin, if a decision can be given quickly in view of his need; and when this decision can be expected.

I understand that the decision of the Employment Appeals Tribunal in this case was issued to the parties concerned on 7 February 1986. I understand further that the tribunal found in favour of the person concerned. He should now request payment of his redundancy lump sum from his former employer. If the employer fails to pay him the lump sum within a reasonable time, he should apply to the redundancy payments section of my Department on the prescribed form to have the lump sum paid to him direct from the Redundancy and Employers' Insolvency Fund.

121.
