Vol. 364 No. 4

Written Answers. - Redundancy Payment.

164.

asked the Minister for Labour when a payment due under the Minimum Notice and Terms of Employment Act will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick who was made redundant when Shannon Waste Services, Limerick, went into liquidation on 22 October 1985.

I understand that the person concerned has submitted an appeal to the Employment Appeals Tribunal under the Minimum Notice and Terms of Employment Act and that that appeal together with appeals of other former employees of the company is due to be heard on 11 March 1986. If the tribunal makes a minimum notice award in his case and that award is not paid by the liquidator of the company, the employee should complete form IP2 which will be sent to him with a copy of the award. The completed form should then be forwarded through the liquidator who should apply to my Department for funds to pay the award from the redundancy and employers' insolvency fund.
