Vol. 364 No. 4

Written Answers. - Sale of Milk Quotas.

133.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will clarify the position regarding the sale of milk quotas from farmers to the co-operatives because of the imposition of the superlevy; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Under the Community regulations the sale of milk quotas by farmers to co-operatives is not permitted. Farmers can sell quotas only under national milk cessation schemes or when the lands to which the quotas are attached are being sold.
