Vol. 364 No. 6

Written Answers - Grant Payments.

32.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a house improvement grant application for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford is now approved; and if she is free to start the works.

The Deputy will be aware of my recent announcement that the need for prior inspection is being dispensed with in the case of all valid applications for house improvement grants, under the 1985 scheme, received in the Department on or before Tuesday, 25 February 1986. Any person who has made a valid application and who has not yet received a visit from an inspector is being sent a letter of approval by 10 March. The work involved should not be commenced before receipt of such letter and will, of course, be subject to the requirements applicable (other than the prior inspection requirement) when the person concerned applied for the grant.

33.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a person (details supplied) in County Waterford will be paid a house improvement grant.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named.
