Vol. 364 No. 10

Written Answers. - County Dublin Housing Estates.

60.

asked the Minister for the Environment the number of housing estates Dublin Corporation and Dublin County Council have refused to take in charge because they were not finished to the required standard; the location of these estates; the action which has been taken in these cases; the action which is pending; and if he intends introducing legislation to regulate this whole area.

The taking in charge of individual housing estates is a matter for the relevant local authority and detailed information of the kind requested is not therefore, available in my Department. The Local Government (Planning and Development) Acts give planning authorities considerable powers to secure the satisfactory completion of private housing estates, and I have no proposals to amend the Acts in this respect.
