I propose to take Questions Nos. 56 and 57 together. As a quality control measure, materials used in work on houses for which new house or improvement grants are sought, must be in conformity with the relevant Irish Standard Specification or otherwise be acceptable to the Department. Normal Portland Cement used for concrete and other cement based products must be certified by the Institute for Industrial Research and Standards under the Irish standard mark licensing scheme as complying with ISI 1963 "Portland Cement" and must bear the Irish Standard Mark. The Department's inspectors carry out on-site inspections and have been asked to ensure as far as possible that materials bear the appropriate Irish Standard Mark.
