Vol. 366 No. 10

Written Answers. - Employment Loss.

32.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware that 40 persons have lost their employment with a company (details supplied) recently; and if he will make a statement on the matter, as no alternative employment is available in the town.

Limerick East): I am aware of the recent loss of employment at the company in question, which was due to market difficulties.

The company is in discussion with the Industrial Development Authority about its future development and every effort is being made to safeguard employment. The IDA has a 5.5 acre site available in the town and is vigorously promoting it for industrial development.
