asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to process the application for a new house grant under the old scheme and a mortgage subsidy for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

A new house grant will be paid in this case following an inspection if it establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and that all the conditions of the grant scheme have been fulfilled. This inspection will be arranged when the applicant notifies my Department that he is in occupation of his new house as his normal place of residence. The application for a mortgage subsidy was refused as neither a legal nor an equitable mortgage had been executed.
