A maximum grant of £2,000 for the provision of a bedroom to relieve overcrowding was approved in this case on 12 July 1986, subject to the submission by the applicant of evidence of planning permission. A further inspection in relation to alternative proposals received from the applicant was carried out on 14 February 1987. The approval of a revised grant will be considered further on receipt of evidence of planning permission which has been requested on a number of occasions.

Maximum grants amounting to £2,800 have been approved for the provisions of a bathroom (£800) and extension (£2,000) in addition to a pre-1940 dwelling repairs grant of £3,426. Any review of the latter grant will be done in the light of the inspector's report in due course when the works have been completed.

A new house grant and mortgage subsidy will be payable if an inspection establishes that the house is complete and occupied and complies with the conditions of the scheme. This inspection will be carried out within the next few weeks.

There has been no delay in this case. Additional information regarding the proposed attic conversion requested from the applicant was received on 4 March 1987. As a result further consultation with the Department's inspector has been necessary. The applicant will be advised of the outcome as soon as possible.

A decision on this application must await the receipt of additional documentation requested from the applicant.

A new house grant will be paid in this case when a final inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and that all the conditions of the grant scheme have been fulfilled.
