An inspection, with a view to payment of the grant, will be carried out within the next few weeks.

A grant of £5,000 in respect of the carrying out of repairs to a pre-1940 dwelling has been approved. A grant for an extension could not be allowed as the specified waiting period had not elapsed since payment of a previous house improvement grant in respect of the house.

This question and a previous one by the Deputy refer specifically to a house improvement grant. In the light of the additional information now provided it appears that his question may relate to an application for a new house grant by a person having the name and address given. In that case a new house grant will be paid within the next few weeks.

Appointments for inspections on both 12 January 1987, and 25 March 1987, were not kept by the applicant. Accordingly, as an inspection was not carried out on or before 27 March 1987, a grant cannot be allowed.
