asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The grant will be paid as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to persons (details supplied) in County Wexford.

The grant will be paid as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to persons (details supplied) in County Wexford; and if he will expedite same.

The receipt of a further report from the Department's inspector and of documentation requested from the applicant is awaited.

The applicant's entitlement to a grant is being examined and he will be informed of the outcome as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for the Environment the progress, if any, which has been made on the appeal for a new house grant and a mortgage subsidy of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny as the appeal was lodged on 18 February 1987, and a further appeal lodged on 6 March 1987.

The decision has been reviewed and a grant and mortgage subsidy cannot be allowed because the floor area of the house exceeds the statutory limit.

The extent of the eligible works and the amount of the grant will be determined at final inspection.

There has been no delay. An inspector called to the house recently but was unable to gain entry. He did, however, report that certain external works were not completed. The applicant has been notified accordingly and, on receipt of confirmation that all the works have been carried out, a further inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of the grant.

There has been no undue delay. On receipt of the inspector's report on the completed works payment of the grant will be considered.

The application, which related to the replacement of windows, was not received on or before 20 January 1987 and accordingly a grant cannot be allowed.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Clare; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that there has been an inordinate delay in payment of this grant; and the reason for this delay.

There has been no undue delay; the grant will be paid as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for the Environment when an inspection for a house improvement grant will take place for a person (details supplied) in County Limerick; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that officials in his Department promised on at least six occasions over the past nine months that an inspection would take place within days; the reason these promises were made if unable to be kept and then ignored; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A final inspection was carried out during the week ending 20 March 1987. However, in accordance with the terms of the scheme it is necessary to establish that the house is being used as a full time residence. There has been correspondence with the applicant and a further inspection is being arranged.

The grant will be paid as soon as possible.

There is no record of the receipt of an application from the person named at the address given. However, there is an application from a person with the same name and from a broadly similar address. In that case the receipt of certain information requested from the applicant on 10 September 1986 is awaited.

An inspection will be carried out as soon as possible to determine if outstanding works, notified to the applicant, have been satisfactorily completed.

The application was received on 30 January 1987. It is accordingly, subject to a maximum grant of £1,500 for the building of an extension which applies with effect from 20 January 1987.
