166.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a house improvement grant will immediately be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The grant will be paid as soon as possible.

167.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in the payment of a £5,000 local authority house surrender grant, a new house grant and a builder's grant to persons (details supplied) in County Cork.

Confirmation that the applicants have complied with the conditions of the £5,000 surrender grant scheme has been received in the Department and this grant will be paid as soon as possible.

An inspection, with a view to the payment of the £2,000 grant, will be arranged when the applicants notify my Department that they are in occupation of the house as their normal place of residence.

The £2,250 "builders" grant will be paid in two equal instalments to the builder of the house in due course.
