asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason inspections have not been carried out in Churchtown, Mallow, County Cork, with a view to payment of calf grants and premiums, despite the fact that surrounding areas have already been inspected.

Cattle inspections in the district electoral division of Churchtown County Cork are in progress and it is hoped to have all applicants' herds in the DED inspected before Christmas.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when payment of a farm modernisation grant will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

A claim under the farm improvement programme for payment of a grant of £1,904 has been received and will be paid as soon as practicable. All claims under the programme are dealt with strictly in order of receipt. Due to existing budgetary constraints there is some delay in making grant payments.
