Vol. 378 No. 2

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Nos. 5, 14 and 15. It is also proposed that No. 15 shall be taken at 10.30 p.m.

Are the procedures in respect of No. 15 agreed to? Agreed.

I want to raise on the Adjournment the question of the extension of the disadvantaged areas scheme in County Waterford and also the rate of payments.

I will communicate with the Deputy.

I should like to repeat my request, which has been made many times, to raise on the Adjournment the issue of the critical situation in Crumlin Children's Hospital in relation to heart operations.

I will communicate with the Deputy.

Can I ask the Taoiseach if he has given any consideration to the idea of televising the affairs of this House?

It does not arise now Deputy.

I can assure you I am not setting out to make a Limerick out of this, but can I ask the Taoiseach if he has given it any consideration or if he will have an opportunity of discussing the possibility of televising debates in this House.

There is a proper procedure for raising such matters.

I wish with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to raise on the Adjournment the continued impasse in the industrial dispute between Dublin Corporation and the firemen and the failure of the Government to provide an adequate framework for a resolution of that dispute.

I will communicate with Deputy Quinn in respect of that matter.

I wish to raise on the Adjournment the question of the killing of 50 Palestinian civilians in the occupied area by Israeli security forces.

We had hoped to deal with that matter last evening but it did not materialise.

I wish to raise on the Adjournment the subject matter of Question No. 263, in my name, of Tuesday, 15 December, 1987.

I will communicate with Deputy Nealon in respect of that matter.

I wish to raise on the Adjournment the question of the extensive damage done to the coastline of Clare as a result of the recent storm.

I will communicate with the Deputy.

I wish to ask the Minister for Health if he is aware of the moves to close further wards in Bantry Hospital and if he would assure the House that no such moves will be allowed by his Department.

(Interruptions.)

A Deputy

Ask Deputy O'Malley.

The moves are imminent.

A Deputy

He is going to close the House.

If there is any more of this I will definitely dissolve the Dáil.

It is the President's Dáil.

May I ask the Taoiseach——

I am sorry, Deputy Sheehan, you are not in order now.

May I ask the Taoiseach when it is intended to introduce an adoption Bill for the purpose of allowing for the adoption of legitimate children?

It is in the Seanad. Everything is a bit uncertain at the moment.
