Vol. 379 No. 2

Written Answers. - Valuation Office Charges.

34.

asked the Minister for Finance the reason a charge of £3.80 is now being levied on auctioneers and solicitors prior to discussion with the Market Valuation Office officials; the reason notice has not been given to the public; and whether this further penalty on people transferring their property is reasonable and fair.

I am informed by the Commissioner of Valuation that no such charge is being levied prior to discussion with officials of the Market Value Section of the Valuation Office.

The Deputy may be referring to the scale of statutory fees in respect of the supply by the Commissioner of certified extracts from and copies of valuation documents in the Valuation Office. There is a fee of £3.80 for a certified extract from the valuation lists for the current or last year where the number of properties involved in the extract does not exceed five. These charges are not new and any changes in the level of fees are published in Iris Oifigiúil and notified to the Incorporated Law Society.
