asked the Minister for Education the number of schools teaching all subjects through the medium of Irish at (a) primary level and (b) post-primary level in the years (i) 1950 (ii) 1960 (iii) 1970 and (iv) 1987 and the percentage of the total numbers of schools in each sector which was represented by the number in each of those years.

The information required by the Deputy is given in tabular form. The figrues in parentheses refer to the percentage of schools in each sector teaching all subjects through the medium of Irish.
