Vol. 382 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

71.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will arrange to have a grant paid to a person for improvements in respect of a roadway to a house (details supplied) in County Kilkenny where all work has been approved.

A grant under the farm improvement programme is being processed with a view to payment if everything is found to be in order. All claims under the programme are dealt with strictly in order of receipt. Payments are being phased in such a way as to ensure adherence to the amount provided in the Vote. Consequently, there is some delay in making grant payments.

72.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if an application for a young farmer installation grant has been approved for a person (details supplied) in County Cork; if so, when payment will issue; and the reason any undue delay should occur.

The processing of the application in this case has been completed and the applicant has been deemed eligible to participate in the scheme. Payment of the premium will be made as soon as practicable and I will inform the Deputy at the appropriate time.

All premiums are paid strictly in the order in which eligibility is established. Payments are being phased in such a way as to ensure adherence to the amount provided in the Vote. Consequently, there is some delay in payments.

73.
