asked the Taoiseach the various conditions that attach to the granting of national lottery money from his Department; and, in particular — (1) if it is possible for a project that has in any way previously been grant aided by Government money or through a Social Employment Scheme or an AnCO scheme to qualify for further national lottery grants (2) whether it is possible to get national lottery money for work on a project already completed before the application but not paid for (3) whether it is possible to get national lottery funds and set off against the bank overdraft of a suitable project (4) the percentage of the total cost of a suitable project which would be grant aided with national lottery money and (5) the stage or stages at which the money is paid out.
Written Answers. - Lottery Fund Allocation.
Each application for lottery assistance submitted to my Department is considered on its merits for the contribution it can make to preserving and developing arts and culture activities in this country.
With regard to the Deputy's specific questions:
(1) It is possible for a project previously part-aided by public funds to receive funding from the national lottery.
(2) It is possible, only in exceptional circumstances, to receive lottery assistance for work already completed but not paid for before an application for lottery funding is made.
(3) It is possible, again in exceptional circumstances only, for national lottery funds to be allocated to offset an overdraft relating to a suitable project.
(4) The percentage of national lottery assistance to the total cost of a project is determined on a project by project basis having regard, inter alia, to the funds otherwise available.
(5) Moneys are paid over in line with agreed schedules of requirements.

(2) Taobh amuigh de na heagrais a luaitear ag (1) thuas, atá ag fáil cúnaimh le fada ó Roinn na Gaeltachta, ní raibh tús curtha le haon tionscnamh ar leith a fuair cúnamh ó Roinn na Gaeltachta as fáltais an chrannchuir.
(3) Is d'oibreacha ar leith a ceadaíodh cúnamh ó Roinn na Gaeltachta agus ní chun ró-tharraingt bainc a laghdú.
(4) Braitheann an céatadán den chostas a cheadaítear mar dheontas ar fhiúntas an togra ó thaobh na Gaeilge de.
(5) Ioctar na deontais i dtráthchodanna de réir mar a bhíonn an obair ag dul ar aghaidh chun sástacht na Roinne.
