Vol. 383 No. 1

Written Answers. - Phoenix Park Buildings.

98.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will give details of each lodge or house in the ownership of the Office of Public Works in the Phoenix Park, Dublin 15 which are not at present occupied; the length of time in each case, of which the house has not been occupied; if it is his intention to let the lodges or houses; if so, if it is his intention to let the lodges or houses fall into disrepair; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There are two lodges in the Phoenix Park under the control of the Commissioners of Public Works which are vacant at present.

One, the main gate lodge, has recently been allocated to a park employee who will take up occupation shortly. The second, the head gardener's lodge, which was allocated to a park employee, who handed it back in November 1987, is in need of repairs. These are programmed to be carried out in the near future and it is proposed to again allocate the lodge to a park employee.
