Vol. 383 No. 4

Written Answers. - Urban Renewal Projects.

49.

asked the Minister for the Environment the total allocation made to urban renewal projects to date; the expenditure on each project; the amount of private matching funding involved; and the projected expenditure for 1989.

My Department make no special allocation in respect of urban renewal projects. Qualifying urban renewal projects in areas designated under the urban renewal scheme do however benefit from special tax reliefs and rates remissions. In addition, grants-in-aid totalling £750,000 to date have been paid by my Department since 1986 towards the current expenditure of the Custom House Docks Development Authority.

The information sought by the Deputy on individual projects is not available in my Department.
