Vol. 387 No. 2

Written Answers. - County Donegal Vocational Schools.

41.

asked the Minister for Education if she will give an up to date report on the provision of vocational schools in Milford and Stranorlar, County Donegal; and if her attention has been drawn to the general disappointment in the area with the lack of progress on both schools.

I am fully aware of the position regarding the provision of vocational schools in Milford and Stranorlar, County Donegal. In the case of Milford, I am satisfied that in the context of rationalisation of provision, a single school development represents the best long-term solution to the post-primary education needs of the area. Both school managements have been so informed. My Department are awaiting a response from County Donegal VEC on the matter. In the circumstances, the provision of a new vocational school does not arise.

I hope to make a decision on the Stranorlar vocational school project in the near future.
