Vol. 388 No. 9

Written Answers. - Erne Catchment Survey.

49.

andMr. McGinley asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the benefit which was gained by Ballyshannon and district, County Donegal as a result of the Erne catchment survey carried out at a cost of £80,000 which was announced by the Tánaiste on 9 June 1980; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

It is not possible to give details of projects aided specifically as a result of the recommendations of the Erne Catchment Area Study report. However, sums of £68,500 and £15,000 have been allocated to Donegal County Council in recent years from the European Regional Development Fund under the special border areas programme for improvement to tourist roads and tourist amenity projects. I will send the Deputies details of projects which were approved for County Donegal under the programme in the area covered by the study.
