Vol. 389 No. 1

Written Answers. - Attacks on Ulster GAA Clubs.

35.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if his attention has been drawn to the difficulties faced by some GAA clubs in Ulster arising from attempts at deliberate sabotage; if any such incidents have been reported to his Department recently; if he has raised this matter at Anglo-Irish meeting level; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

My attention has been drawn to a number of incidents at GAA clubs in Northern Ireland in recent months, the most serious of which have involved bomb attacks on GAA premises. I deplore these incidents and I have been in contact with the British authorities through the Anglo-Irish Secretariat on all aspects of the matter.
