Question declared carried.

A Cheann Comhairle, le cead uaitse ba mhaith liom mo bhuíochas a chur in iúl don Teach de bhrí gur toghadh athuair mé mar Leas-Cheann Comhairle. Déanfaidh mé mo dhícheall agus mé sa Chathaoir sin cothrom na Féinne a thabhairt do chuile dhuine agus cúraim agus riachtanais na hoifige a dhéanamh de réir mar is cóir. Déanaim comhbhrón, más é sin an focal ceart, leis na Teachtaí Paddy Harte agus Séamus Pattison. Bheadh ceachtar den bheirt sin in ann dualgais na hoifige a chomhlíonadh chomh maith is a dhéanfainnse é lá ar bith ach ní raibh áit ann ach do dhuine amháin.

A Cheann Comhairle, thank you for having given me the opportunity of expressing to the House my gratitude for having trusted me with the duties of the Leas-Cheann Comhairle. I pledge to all, as I have done in the past, my desire to discharge the duties of the office as fairly and as correctly as I am able. Go raibh maith agat.
