The policy review commissioned by my predecessor brought to light certain issues in a number of areas which require detailed examination. I am arranging to have the necessary analysis carried out. It is not, however, the practice to publish the reports of interdepartmental committees, established to assist in the Cabinet decision-making process. In addition, in the case of the Defence Review Committee, important security considerations are involved.
