Vol. 394 No. 1

Written Answers. - Beer/Stout Prices Control.

122.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if any application was made to his Department, by either brewers or publicans, to increase the price of a pint of beer and stout in the Cork area; if he was informed that such an increase had taken place; and the action he proposes to take in the matter.

As the Deputy will be aware all forms of price control generally were abandoned in 1986. Since then there has been no obligation on brewers, distillers or publicans to make application for permission to increase prices.
