Vol. 395 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ardfert, Kerry, School Project.

Thomas McEllistrim Jnr.

Question:

10 Mr. McEllistrim asked the Minister for Education if she will make a grant available for the extension of Kilmoyley National School, Ardfert, County Kerry.

Grant-aid will be made available for the proposed conversion and extension of Kilmoyley National School, Ardfert, Co. Kerry.

I should like to thank the Minister of State for the grant being made available to Kilmoyley National School.

Can the Minister say when this grant will be made available?

Normal planning is now in progress. Normally grant aid is paid as work on the project is carried out.

What is the present stage of planning?

Our architectural staff were asked to prepare a sketch scheme in May 1989. At present work is in progress on the plans. The architects expect to have those plans ready within the next week or two. The plan will then be sent to the board of management. They will then proceed with the application for planning permission, at which time we will be in a position to go for tender. I should tell Deputy Deenihan that all of this is being taken care of by Deputy McEllistrim.
