Vol. 396 No. 4

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Lusk, Dublin, Development Works.

Seán Ryan

Question:

8 Mr. Ryan asked the Minister for the Environment if he will sanction the request by Dublin County Council to have the cost of basic open space development works amounting to £5,475 at Minister's Park, Lusk, County Dublin, charged to the capital cost of the scheme.

The proposal in question is under examination in my Department and the council will be advised of the outcome as soon as possible.

I am disappointed with the reply but I would hope that the Minister would take on board this request and act on it. The sum of £5,000 in the context of the overall cost of the scheme is a pittance and perhaps it should have been included in the original cost. It could do much for this local authority estate and it should be the Minister's intention to improve the visual aspect. I hope he will recommend and sanction it.

The examination is coming to a close and I am hoping the Deputy will not be disappointed.
