Question:58 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Defence when the three vacancies for the rank of sergeant in James Stephens Barracks, Kilkenny, will be filled, having regard to the fact that interviews were held in November 1989.

It is not possible at present to fill any vacancies for sergeant in the 30th Infantry Battalion, Stephen Barracks, Kilkenny, due to the fact that the current strength of sergeants in the Curragh Command (in which the 30th Infantry Battalion is located) is in excess of the authorised number.
