Vol. 398 No. 10

Written Answers. - Limerick Firearms Range Closure.

Michael Noonan

Question:

64 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for Defence the circumstances which have led to the closure of the firearms range at Knockalisheen, Limerick; if he envisages the reopening of the range; if not, the alternative arrangements which are being made to provide facilities for the Garda, members of the Army and the FCA to engage in firearms practice; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The firing range at Knockalisheen has been closed temporarily pending full investigation of a complaint by an adjoining landowner that livestock on his lands had suffered injuries arising from an explosion carried out on my Department's lands at Knockalisheen.
