Vol. 403 No. 3

Written Answers. - Inchicore (Dublin) Estate.

Jim Mitchell

Question:

69 Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Minister for the Environment the date on which he received from Dublin Corporation proposals for the refurbishment of St. Michael's Estate, Inchicore, Dublin 8; the estimated cost of the refurbishment; whether he has approved the proposal; if not, when a decision is likely to be made; and if he will give an indication of the likely date when work will commence and be completed.

A proposal to carry out works to these dwellings under the remedial works scheme, at an estimated cost of £3.35 million, was received on 2 November 1990. A decision on eligibility under the scheme will issue as soon as possible. However, due to the high level of overall demand under the scheme and the relative priority accorded to this estate by the corporation, it would not be possible, at this stage, to designate it for funding.
