Vol. 408 No. 6

Written Answers. - Foreign Fishery Vessels Arrested.

Dinny McGinley

Question:

44 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for the Marine if he will outline the names of foreign registered fishery vessels arrested in our waters during 1990; the ports they were brought into; and the amount of fine in each case.

Sixty non-Irish registered fishing vessels were arrested during 1990. These were brought into various ports around the coast and have been, or are at the moment, the subject of due legal process. The question of the imposition of fines is a matter for the courts.
