303 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for the Environment if he will outline the total amount of funds (1) recouped by his Department in 1991 to the local authorities under section 10 of the Housing Act, 1988 and (2) outline in each local authority area where payments were made during the year ending 31 December 1991; and if he will further outline to whom the payments were made.
Recoupments by my Department under section 10 of the Housing Act, 1988 are made only to housing authorities on foot of payments made by them in relation to the accommodation of homeless persons. The total of such recoupments in 1991 was £377,210.74 as in the following table:
