Vol. 415 No. 1

Written Answers. - Killarney (Kerry) Public Housing Programme.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

330 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for the Environment if he will outline the amount of money provided for public housing in Killarney, County Kerry in 1986 and in 1991; and if he has any plans to provide increased funding for 1992 in view of the crisis that exists in housing in Killarney, County Kerry.

I assume the question relates to the allocations for Killarney Urban District Council's housing construction programme. In relation to 1986 I refer to the reply to Question No. 34 of 4 May 1989; the corresponding figure for 1991 was £208,000.

The 1992 allocations for individual authorities will be determined as soon as possible having regard to the competing needs of authorities and the capital available for the housing construction programme nationally.
