Question:

28 Mr. Durkan asked the Taoiseach if he has made any further progress with regard to the possible introduction of a national order of merit/honours list or a similar structure with a view to State recognition for persons whose contribution to society merits such an award; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I indicated to the Deputy, in response to a previous question, that I proposed to have meetings with the other party leaders to discuss this matter.

I regret that it has not been possible to make further progress in the interim.
