Written Answers. - Ministerial Departmental Appointments.

Jim Higgins

Question:

95 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Justice the name of the partnership programme manager appointed to her Department; the names of the special advisers, if any, appointed; the qualifications of the people so appointed; and the remuneration involved in each case.

Mr. Diarmuid Cole, Principal Officer, has been appointed partnership programme manager in my Department. He will be remunerated at the maximum of the Principal Officer higher scale.

I have not appointed any special advisers to my Department.

96 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Justice the number of people appointed by her to her constituency office; the qualifications of those so appointed; and the remuneration involved is each case.

Five Departmental staff have been appointed to my constituency office. Details of the grades and salary scales of these staff are set out in the following schedule:

Clerical Officer(1)

£148.96-£263.86 p.w.

Clerical Assistant (2)

£147.69-£217.95 p.w.

In addition to the foregoing, my Dáil secretary has been brought into the Department to continue her existing duties.
