20 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Social Welfare if the funds provided for in 1993 will be sufficient to meet the financial requirements of his Department in view of projections; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The 1993 Estimate for the Social Welfare Vote makes provision for the number who are expected to claim under the various programmes administered by my Department and for the improvements announced in this year's budget.
On the basis of provisional returns for the first quarter, I consider that the provision in my Department's 1993 Estimate is adequate.
