Vol. 442 No. 3

Written Answers. - Land Registry Dealing.

Noel Ahern

Question:

95 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Justice in relation to an application by persons (details supplied) in Dublin 11, to the Land Registry for a vesting certificate in respect of property, if she will give details of the difficulties involved in the processing of the application; if the delay is due to staffing problems, that is lack of an arbitrator; and when the certificate will issue.

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that the application referred to by the Deputy was received at the Land Registry on 24 March 1994 and has been dealt with expeditiously. A letter issued to the solicitors for the applicant on 7 April proposing a method of dealing with the application and a reply is awaited from them. In the meantime, immediate arrangements are being made to appoint an arbitrator at the grounds rents section.
