Question:49 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Justice if she will make a statement concerning the contents of correspondence (details supplied).
Written Answers. - Sub Judice Case.
The position is that the Minister for Justice is cited as one of the defendants in the court proceedings referred to in the correspondence supplied by the Deputy and which are still pending. I have been informed that the Chief State Solicitor has been in correspondence with the plaintiff in the matter and is still awaiting a reply to a letter issued to the plaintiff on 7 September 1993.
In the circumstances I do not consider it appropriate for me to make any further comment in the matter.
