Vol. 459 No. 7

Written Answers. - Sale of Drug.

Willie O'Dea

Question:

68 Mr. O'Dea asked the Minister for Health if he intends to sanction permission for the sale of the drug fosamax in this country; and, if so, when sanction will be granted. [18829/95]

, Limerick East): An application has been made under the Medical Preparations (Licensing, Advertisement and Sale) Regulations, 1984 for a product authorisation in respect of this drug and that application is currently being assessed on my behalf by the National Drugs Advisory Board.

I understand that the assessment of the application by the board has almost been completed and it is likely the recommendations of the board will be issued in the very near future.
