149 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Defence the number, by rank, of members of the Permanent Defence Force based at Finner Camp, County Donegal, who have applied for early retirement; and when a decision will be made and announced in respect of these applications. [11849/96]
A total of 47 applications under the voluntary early retirement — VER — scheme have been received from personnel at Finner Camp, categorised by rank as follows: 1 Commandant; 1 Captain; 1 Battalion Quartermaster-Sergeant; 1 Company-Sergeant; 7 Sergeants; 12 Corporals; 24 Privates. All applications will be evaluated by a VER board and each applicant will be notified of the outcome of his-her application as soon as possible.
