Question:202 Mr. B. Smith asked the Minister for Education the current position regarding the conferral of full-time status on Cavan Teachers' Centre; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [13594/96]

The further development of the network of education centres is under review and consideration in my Department. The question of the change in status for any part-time education centre is being considered in the context of the overall development of the network. The Department will be interested to know that the in-career development unit of my Department has approved funding for a number of courses organised by the Cavan Education Centre during the 1995-96 school year.
