351 Mr. Cowen asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the number of farmers who applied for the control of farmyard pollution scheme and who have been unable to proceed having received approval from his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13933/96]

Of the 10,438 applications approved under the control of farm pollution scheme, 45 subsequently notified my Department that they were not proceeding with their application for various reasons.
