Written Answers. - Urban Renewal Scheme.
The present urban renewal scheme came into being in August 1994 for a three year period and therefore is not due to terminate until 31 July 1997. At present there is a comprehensive review of the entire urban renewal scheme taking place and as part of this review a team of independent consultants were appointed to evaluate the experiences of the last ten years. I expect that their report will be completed shortly and will be published some time later in the autumn. The report's findings will be carefully assessed before any decision is taken in the matter.
