Vol. 482 No. 6

Written Answers. - Day Care Centres.

Pat Carey

Question:

300 Mr. P. Carey asked the Minister for Health and Children the sum of money which has been allocated by his Department to the Eastern Health Board for the provision of a day care centre for the elderly to be constructed in conjunction with the Focus Housing Development in Finglas, Dublin 11; if there is a timescale for the expenditure of these moneys; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18913/97]

In July 1995 the Department made a capital grant of £200,000 available to the Eastern Health Board towards the establishment of a day care centre for older people in Finglas.

I understand from the board that it is presently in discussion with Focus Ireland and the West Finglas Tenant's Association regarding the development of the proposed day care centre. It is not possible to give a timescale for the development until these discussions have been finalised.
