209 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo is waiting nine months later for three windows, one door, water in to the house and a toilet to be installed in view of the fact that he applied under the special housing aid for the elderly scheme to the Western Health Board. Question:

218 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children when persons (details supplied) in County Mayo will have their house repaired under the special housing aid for the elderly scheme in view of the fact that they were approved some time ago and their house is a potential death trap with faulty wiring and a leaking roof. [20400/97]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 208, 209 and 218 together.

As the Deputy will be aware, the administration of the special housing aid scheme for older people in the Mayo area is a matter for the Western Health Board.

I have asked the chief executive officer of the Western Health Board to investigate these cases as a matter of urgency and to respond directly to the Deputy with the board's findings.
